Can I park here?

Snap the whole sign pole. Get a plain YES or NO, how long you can stay, and the exact line on the sign that decides it. Then one tap for a reminder before the rule changes.

Fit every sign on the pole in one photo. We check it for right now, in your time zone.

Built for the signs that make you ask

“This sign does not say no parking to the left. Does no standing = no parking in DC?”
— Reddit, r/washingtondc
“Parking signs are too goddamn hard to parse, that’s the real problem.”
— Hacker News
“I’m dyslexic, and reading parking signs in Los Angeles, especially in West Hollywood, can be incredibly difficult.”
— App Store review

How it works

  1. 1. Snap the pole

Fit every sign in one photo. Top to bottom.

  2. 2. We read it for right now

Every sign, every arrow, today’s day and time, in your time zone.

  3. 3. Get YES or NO

Plus how long you can stay, the line that decides it, and a reminder.

No standing vs no parking

No standing is stricter. Under no parking you may stop briefly to load or unload. Under no standing you may only stop to let people in or out. So where a no standing rule is in force, you cannot park, even if the sign never says “no parking”. That is true in DC and New York.

Why not just ask a chatbot?

  • No prompt to write. It already knows the day, time and your time zone.
  • It shows the exact line on the sign that decides it, so you can check.
  • It saves a reminder before your time runs out or the rule changes.
  • Big text and read-aloud for anyone who finds dense signs hard to read.
  • Works on iPhone, Android and desktop. No install.

Questions

Can I park here? How does ParkPeek know?

Snap a photo of the whole sign pole. ParkPeek reads every sign, checks today’s day and time in your time zone, and tells you YES or NO, how long you can stay, and which line on the sign decides it.

Is no standing the same as no parking?

No standing is stricter. It bans parking and also bans waiting. You may only stop to drop off or pick up passengers. So yes: where no standing applies, you cannot park, even if the sign never says “no parking”.

Do I need to install an app or sign up?

No. It works in your phone’s browser. You get 3 free scans a month without an account. An account is only needed for Pro.

What does Pro add?

Unlimited scans, an email reminder before the rule changes, and a history of every sign you checked. $2.99 a month or $29.90 a year.

Do you keep my photos?

No. The photo is read once and thrown away. We never store sign photos.

Is it always right?

It reads signs carefully and shows you the exact line it used, so you can check it. The posted sign and local law are what count, and things outside the photo (curb paint, hydrants) still apply.
